A lot of older homes are running on electrical service that was never designed for modern demand. Outdated panels, undersized service, exposed or degraded wiring on the exterior - it adds up. And most homeowners don't think about it until something goes wrong.
Here's what we were working with on this one. The existing service needed a full upgrade, so we came in and replaced it with a new 200 amp setup. Outside, we ran PVC conduit along the exterior wall to house and protect the service line. PVC holds up well against the elements - it won't rust, it won't corrode, and it keeps everything secure for the long run.
Inside, the new panel is clean, properly wired, and labeled. Every circuit accounted for. That might sound like a small thing, but a well-organized panel makes a real difference when something needs to be traced or shut off quickly. We also installed a GFCI outlet at the base of the panel - a detail that speaks to doing the job right, not just doing the job fast.
A 200 amp panel upgrade like this gives a home the capacity to handle modern electrical loads - central AC, EV chargers, updated appliances, you name it. It's also a safety improvement. Old service equipment can be a liability. New equipment with properly rated breakers is just a more reliable foundation for everything running in the house.
If your service is outdated or you're not sure what you've got, it's worth having someone take a look. These are the kinds of upgrades that protect the home and give you room to grow.
